Broking Director - US D&O
London
£130,000 - £200,000 + discretionary (and possible guaranteed) bonus
A highly reputable, mid-sized Lloyd's insurance Broker with long-term investment, is seeking a senior US D&O broking professional, to lead their Wholesale Financial Lines team in the City.
There is a rare and enviable situation of a book of business to inherit, which is mainly US Directors and Officers insurance, but also some Financial Institutions. The team and wider division have strong relationships with US wholesalers, who give them regular business, as well as access to a global network. The structure is very flat and collaborative, with several team members having been there many years.
This role has the opportunity to be shaped around the individual, but broadly will entail:
- Placing North American D&O (and some FI) business in the Lloyd's Market
- Nurturing existing relationships with US Wholesalers
- Developing relationships with US retailers to greater enhance the flow of business
- Managing a small team of Brokers
- Growing this team, through helping identify market talent and assisting in the interview process
- Overseas travel (where appropriate)
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A solid reputation in the US D&O London broking market
- Some knowledge of Financial Institutions risks
- Existing relationships with both US wholesalers and retailers
- Team management or mentoring experience
Whilst the team currently has a US focus, they also have a team who focus on international business and this is also very welcome, if individuals have relationships round the world. This is a real chance for an ambitious D&O Broker (or possibly multiple), to make their mark and really impact the growth of a significant team!
