The Role
As an Energy Underwriter, you will play a key role in driving the growth of the Energy portfolio, with a particular focus on generating and converting new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Underwriting new Energy risks in line with appetite, pricing and profitability objectives.
- Developing and strengthening relationships with brokers and key trading partners.
- Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to portfolio growth strategies.
- Delivering high levels of service and responsiveness to brokers.
- Working collaboratively with underwriting leadership to support portfolio development.
- Maintaining strong technical underwriting discipline while balancing commercial objectives.
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
About You
- Experience underwriting Energy risks within the Company, Lloyd's or London Market environment.
- A strong new business mindset with proven broker development capabilities.
- Sound technical underwriting knowledge and commercial awareness.
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial approach to winning and retaining business.
- A desire to work within a modern, technology-enabled underwriting environment.
