We have been retained by a branded M&A insurance practice to lead the search for an M&A Analyst based in London. He or she will support a team of experienced Underwriters involved in leading on premium deals from submissions received by the international broking community - the team are considered the go-to for complex deals and with an international platform are also the choice for cross-border and multi-jurisdictional risks.

  • Conduct background research on the parties to a particular transaction and the industries in which they operate
  • Review and understand the client's motivation for requesting the insurance coverage, the role the insurance is playing in the transaction, and the value of the insurance to the transaction
  • Review and understand documentation relevant to the analysis and assessment of the risk
  • Analyse and assess the underlying risk in accordance with the relevant product line policies and procedures
  • Prepare non-binding indication letters, insurance policies and binder agreements
  • Interact with clients, client's Advisors, Brokers and other deal professionals
  • Participate on underwriting conference calls
  • Manage the underwriting process and, in cooperation with the legal department, the selection of and work performed by outside Counsel
  • Present preliminary findings and conclusions to Senior Underwriters and management
  • Prepare regular targeted analyses on the underwriting book

The role would someone from the M&A community i.e. a Corporate Lawyer (NQ - 1), Big 4 or an investment banking professional with a keen interest in working within mergers and acquisitions and the insurance markets.
