Change Manager

Job description

Main function of job: Working as part of a major strategic programme this is an exciting role for someone looking to make a difference, driving the design and delivery of change methodology.
The role of the Change Manager is to proactively and behaviourally prepare the business for the impact of the changes being delivered by the project/programme. The Change Manager provides a bridge between the project and the business users to ensure that activities are planned and completed to enable the business to implement the agreed change and realise the business benefits.


Main Duties:

  • Design, oversee and enable implementation of the Change and Communication initiatives to ensure excellent execution of our business goals
  • Design and manage the Change Management and Communications roadmap day-day (maintain plan / allocate tasks / oversee delivery of all items)
  • Apply a structured change methodology and lead change management activities to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required
  • Assess change impact and readiness, conducting impact analyses and identify key stakeholders
  • Proactively provide Change Management guidance to business leaders and project managers - supporting them to deliver sustainable change in an effective way
  • Co-develop the key messages and communication toolkits for deployment across the business
  • Work with SMEs and the Internal Communications Manager to deliver compelling content
  • Build and manage a team of champions / advocates in the organisation to share key messages and drive organisational change
  • Enable the handover of plans and capability, support the transition into BAU and move towards continuous improvement
  • Implement sustainability plans, monitoring adoption, reporting on change effectiveness and measuring, analysing and responding to performance metrics
  • Develop short and long-term goals, KPIs, and objectives, to help to monitor adoption of change and analyse performance metrics
  • Working with the programme and the sponsor to develop and implement a benefits management and realisation plan, assisting with the tracking of the benefits and reporting into SteerCo
  • Conduct lessons learned / after action review relating to change effectiveness and celebrate success


Experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of Change Management
  • Extensive Change Management experience involving global multi location organisations with strong stakeholders, differing cultures and complex ways of working
  • Management of resources with a particular emphasis on leading, developing and coaching teams within a constantly changing, business critical environment
  • Able to deploy behavioural change techniques to overcome initial people resistance to change
  • Possesses a recognised accreditation in Change/Project Management e.g. APMG Change Management - Practitioner, PRINCE 2, PMI, APMP or equivalent



Personal Qualities:

  • Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to tailor style and content accordingly
  • Strong track record of working directly with business people in the implementation of behavioural change as part of significant strategic projects / programme
  • Strong attention to detail, together with a logical and tenacious approach to problem solving
  • Passionate about exceeding customer expectations and improving service levels
  • Ability to delegate and direct large volumes of complex work and prioritise effectively within very tight delivery timescales
  • Highly developed leadership skills with the ability to inspire others
  • Ability to interpret complex requirements and translate into logical and easy to understand plans of work
