A well respected insurance Broker that pride themselves on providing a quality service to their clients are looking for a Compliance Monitoring and Quality Assurance Manager to join a growing team. Reporting directly into the Head of Compliance, this role will require you to put service and integrity at the heart of absolutely everything you do.

You will be reporting into the Head of Compliance and will be responsible for a team of 5 in delivering the risk and compliance monitoring program and quality assurance plan.

Duties

  • Conduct compliance reviews to ensure adherence with regulations, company policies and the internal control framework
  • Facilitate quality assurance calibration to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach across the business is obtained, with buy in and understanding of business standards
  • Produce management reports identifying areas that are not compliant with regulations, policies and framework
  • Review, monitor and track monitoring reports, to achieve a satisfactory closure and evidence this by an audit trail
  • Represent the risk and compliance function at stakeholder and client facing meetings
  • Ensure departments own controls are designed and working effectively
  • Carry out ad-hoc investigations, thematic and projects as directed
  • Where necessary, lead on engaging relevant internal and external stakeholders if change is required to policies or procedures
  • Draft and issue of formal reports to the business
  • Analyse relevant MI to identify gaps in risk, compliance or conduct issues and undertake root cause analysis where appropriate to highlight underlying trends and identify and track actions as appropriate
  • Proactively analyse and interpret forthcoming legislation and regulation
  • Ensure the escalation of all issues and risks to Head of Compliance as appropriate
  • An aid and support to conduct, compliance and financial crime management in relation to regular reporting and other ad-hoc tasks as necessary


That is why you will have current and actively maintained knowledge of the regulatory environment. You'll demonstrate working knowledge of the FCA handbook, GDPR, consumer credit and PCI requirements.

You'll be able to identify areas of regulatory concern and plan and operate an effective monitoring and quality assurance programme throughout the business. You will need good knowledge of insurance broking operations and processes in both advised and non advised environments.

Effective written and oral communication skills are essential as you will be required present in meetings and you will have the ability to build strong relationships needed for working across varied business areas.

Analytical in nature, you'll be able to assimilate and utilise new information, process and training and demonstrate strong problem solving skills.

You will need a level of gravitas that enables support, guidance and challenge of senior leaders in the business and you must be a team player with strong interpersonal, communication and project management skills including leading teams of at least 5 team members.

Whilst this role is analytical you will display an energy, enthusiasm and drive towards managing and developing the compliance monitoring and quality assurance team and all areas of this role.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Significant experience of working within a compliance monitoring environment and management of a team
  • Insurance or audit qualification
  • Microsoft Office package to an intermediate level
  • A demonstrable understanding of the relevant risk, compliance and regulatory considerations in a general insurance setting
