Construction Claims Handler, French Speaker

Job Summary

Working on European business, with a focus on French construction, to deliver a high quality claims service to our underwriting partners, policy holders and Brokers. Reporting and working directly with Chief Legal Risk Officer and individual business unit.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

  • The first point of contact on claims notifications, to manage and process in a timely and efficient manner from first notice to closure
  • Building claims handling templates for binders, building claims SLAs to monitor the company performance in receiving, processing and settling claims
  • Accurately assess liability and quantum of claims
  • Establishing, analysing and reporting on claims KPI's
  • Oversee claims loss funds and reconciliation
  • Conducting full reviews of all incurred claims and implementing a rolling review regime
  • Participating proactively with new and renewal binder negotiations
  • Building good working relations with TPAs and being familiar with their processes, oversee workload and performance
  • Organising periodic claims meetings/claims performance with Team/Product Leaders in order to review account performance, larger losses and overall movement
  • Delivering a professional service representative of the company brand and culture to internal and external clients
  • Handling and resolution of client and Underwriter queries and development of client and under writer relationship
  • Supporting in the IT system/bordereau process to ensure and maintain data quality and accuracy

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent but not essential
CII or industry based qualification is desirable but non-essential

Excellent command of French language both written and spoken is highly desirable
Construction insurance background desirable
Strong technical ability
Able to manage own workload efficiently and effectively
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills utilising all genres

Previous specialty claims experience would be strongly preferred
Experience within a similar role
End to end knowledge of the insurance process and claims management
Law degree/qualification preferred but not essential
