Working on-site as a Senior Data Modeler your duties will include:

  • Use a variety of information gathering techniques (e.g., interviews, facilitation, diagrams) to gather complex business data requirements from business teams and data science and analytics teams
  • Serve as the Business Modeler/Data Analyst for data projects and initiatives, creating conceptual and logical business models used to generate physical data models and database schema
  • Partner with DBAs/Engineers to transform logical data models into physical database designs while optimising the performance and maintainability of the physical database
  • Responsible for establishing standards and guidelines related to database architecture, data storage, reporting, dashboards, ETL and business intelligence as used in our applications
  • Design and build data pipelines and complex engineering required to sustainably source data into a cloud environment
  • Collaborate with internal organisations to source data and interoperate with existing systems
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) to internal and external parties for data related projects
  • Work across the organisation to develop new data-based capabilities in our products to increase both internal and customer value
  • Work alongside data operations and other business units to help design, implement and support solutions
  • Support our data organisation to ensure our applications are collecting, organising and providing the desired data points to support the data strategy
  • Contribute to our core digital platform and augment capabilities to build data assets and continuously improve our platform offering


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Expertise in multiple databases coming from speciality insurance background with London Lloyds Market exposure
  • Very strong knowledge in multiple databases and its architecture is required
  • DW BI (ODS/DWH) dimensional/Star Schema data modelling experience is required
  • Knowledge in Cloud technologies
  • Very strong in analysing and documenting the existing database architecture and reverse engineering
  • Very strong in communication to carried out discussion/interaction/interview with all the stack holders to capturing and modeling data requirements, data definitions, business rules, data quality requirements and logical/physical data models to ensure data solutions to best fit for the customer needs
  • Creating and refining the database designs to fulfil the requirements including regulatory, privacy, quality, governance, data volume, frequency need, and long-term data growth
  • Document the data model by clearly defining metadata, data definitions, data relationships/dependencies, data values, data lineage, data restrictions, data retention policies, data usage policies
  • Experience in implementing master data management
  • Very strong skills to leverage with performance tuning and delivering efficient SQL queries for data management and data extraction
  • On-site working experience is required
  • Good experience in various database DB programming like PL-SQL/T-SQL
  • Exposure in Unix/Python shell scripting
