Our client are a well respected, profitable and stable commercial Insurer with a very successful regional operation across the North of England. The business is renowned for the service levels they provide to Brokers and the integrity of their underwriting standards.

An opportunity has arisen for a field based Development Underwriter to join the business covering the Yorkshire and North East of England, working with key Broker Partners to develop new business opportunities as well as defend key strategic accounts.

Whilst this role will retain some underwriting authority, it is primarily a role suited to a very strong relationship developer, used to interacting and influencing Senior Broker contacts. Key to success in the role will be the ability to effectively communicate the Insurers appetite and also triage potential cases prior to them being underwritten by the office based team.

This is a superb role suited to an individual who enjoys a high degree of Broker contact, the responsibility of managing large value broker accounts and who has a good overall underwriting understanding.

We are keen to hear from seasoned Business Development Managers with a good technical grasp of commercial insurance, or experienced Development Underwriters who are looking to work for a professional and supportive Insurer.

On offer is a generous salary of up to £55,000 plus home working status, mobile, lap top, car, generous pension allowance and health care. There are a host of additional benefits to make this a very attractive proposition.
