Fund Research Assistant needed! IDEX Consulting are partnered with a highly regarded, leading general insurance and financial services company who are looking for a Financial Fund Research Assistant, on a contract basis, to join their team in the Midlands.

My client is looking for a Fund Research Assistant to join their team at their head office in the beautiful location of Stratford-upon-Avon. The role of a Fund Research Assistant requires you to conduct research, investigations and analysis to support the External Fund Relationship Manager in the research of funds/Fund Managers in accordance with agreed parameters, process and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyse and evaluate Fund Managers using industry standard research databases e.g. Morningstar to identify relevant fund population for each asset class to support the selection of Fund Managers
  • Using pre-defined criteria and agreed process, analyse Fund Manager population and complete short list for detailed review
  • Undertake and document due diligence reviews of identified Fund Managers following the agreed processes
  • Maintain standard quantitative and qualitative reports on funds with information provided by Fund Managers and the Morningstar system
  • Input, calculate and report on fund performance and risk metrics to enable accurate monitoring and reporting of fund performance across the group



To be successful you will need

  • Degree or relevant qualification
  • Experience in using Morningstar Direct, Mercers or Bloomberg would be an advantage
  • Demonstrable experience in researching equity and Fixed Income Fund Managers in a regulated industry or financial services sector
  • IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and data processing skills
