Are you a qualified accountant with general insurance experience looking for a more strategic role? Sick of being just the numbers person in the business? If so, then read on.

A well-known Insurance Brokers are looking to hire a Group Financial Controller to their UK business.
Due to a number of recent acquisitions and substantial company growth a new position of Group Financial Controller has become available to provide support to the Finance Director and assist with the running of the finance function for the organisation.

Your duties may include, but will not be limited to;

  • Supervise the preparation of month end accounts
  • Ensure the completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Budget analysis
  • Managing the audit process and liaising with external personnel
  • Oversee the preparation of year end statutory accounts
  • Managing, mentoring and motivating the accounts team
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Contributing to company financial strategy and decision-making process
  • Undertaking financial analysis and reporting
  • Ensuring robust financial systems and processes are in place
  • Developing forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow)
  • Due diligence projects on potential acquisitions

The ideal candidate:

  • Ideally ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified (or nearing completion)
  • Must have previous working experience in the insurance broking sector
  • Excellent communicator, with both internal and external colleagues at all levels
  • Previous experience dealing with company acquisitions and business partnering would be advantageous
  • Ability to work autonomously is essential
  • Hard working, efficient and motivated by results
  • Ability to analyse and make recommendations, alongside the capacity to drive through key business changes
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial issues
  • Qualified and experienced in a similar role
