What you'll be doing:

  • You'll be managing a large portfolio of £1.4 billion, supporting in the design of the Groups entire insurance strategy, this means it is essential you have relevant industry experience and technical knowledge across multiple classes
  • Working collaboratively the business units in mitigating risk by providing communication, training on policies and procedures relating to the insurance covers, and to help the business meet their disclosure and duty of fair presentation duties in accordance with the Insurance Act 2015
  • Promote and live the company values
  • Responsible for the implementation and communication to the business, of the approved insurance strategy to ensure appropriate protection of the group's assets and insurable liabilities
  • Responsible for the review and renewal of the company's annual insurance program
  • Management of the insurance team to deliver high quality day-to-day servicing and administration in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner
  • Apply and implement high quality and ongoing improvements to processes and procedures whilst ensuring operational profitability and efficiency
  • To work with the group's individual teams and, by visiting regional offices and sites, identify insurable risks and manage them through a cost-effective provision of insurance solutions. This is to ensure that the group has appropriate insurance for its business needs, is mitigating risk and identifying new areas of business risk as they arise
  • Achieve best value in the procurement of insurance products/services and liaise with Brokers regarding submission of data to Insurers
  • To manage the group's bond facilities ensuring they are appropriate for the needs of the business as its requirements and commercial model evolves
  • Keep up to date with trends and developments in technology, products and services and applying that knowledge in the management of the company's risk and claims management processes
  • To develop and maintain both internal and external business relationships
  • As part of the effective delivery of our performance development framework, provide coaching and regular feedback to maximise performance delivery and development, encouraging collaboration and empowerment
  • Demonstrate effective communication to facilitate engagement and enablement
  • Maintain knowledge and adhere to relevant group policies and procedures, legislation and regulations
  • Develop and ensure safe working practices


Bonus points

  • In-house insurance experience within the property/construction/environmental sectors
  • Dip CII or above
