An expanding tech start-up business is seeking to appoint a Product Manager to lead the development of products in their insurance channel.

The Business


Building SaaS software for consumers and businesses is a large part of what they do to analyse data and provide insights. Their data-led solutions are currently operating across several sectors in the UK including telecoms, energy and insurance, though European expansion is imminent. The next stage is targeting Private Motor Insurers in the UK with the long-term view of moving into Home and Life insurance.


The Role


The Product Manager will:

  • Be responsible for the scaling and growth of the insurance category within the business and externally to partners and customers
  • Lead the shaping and delivery of insurance products, starting with Car insurance
  • Document and specify the requirements, features and functionality of the product
  • Drive growth through product
  • Inform and define the roadmap for existing partners, but also into new markets around the world i.e. the EU, China and the US
  • Identify opportunities and anticipate new products through data and insights
  • Work closely with data scientists, developers, UX/UI, product and partner teams


The Individual


Applicants must have significant knowledge within the personal lines insurance market and experience of the following would be ideal:

  • Owning the development of a financial services insurance product for a Car or Home insurance ideally for a new venture inside a larger corporate or as a Fintech startup
  • Helping a brand to achieve some success by delivering a product to market
  • Advising and directing an executive team and presenting at a executive level
  • Identifying new and innovative product propositions
  • Product analytics and definition of success metrics
  • Regulatory frameworks, such as FSA and GDPR
  • Appreciation of the data science and mathematics behind risk, price and mechanisms that drive insurance and the Insurer business
  • Perspective on Insurer behaviour to pricing models and real time risk modelling
