My client is a leading discretionary fund and wealth management practice and they are looking to appoint a Paraplanner to their team in Edinburgh.

The Role

  • Provide appropriate support for Financial Planning Managers
  • Facilitate the smooth processing of new and existing business
  • Liaise with the administration team
  • Assist with monitoring the performance and work throughput of the administration team thereby ensuring standards are maintained and deadlines are met
  • Assist with the monitoring of compliance standards across the FP department
  • Assist with reconciliation of commissions and fees for the FP department
  • To build a working knowledge of the business support function and to manage the teams relations with business support
  • Complying with the regulatory regime whilst demonstrating an understanding of your responsibility within the regulatory framework
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Prepare business generating documentation for the Financial Planning Managers including report writing
  • To perform all necessary actions required in order to comply with all FCA rules and regulations applicable to the role, while adhering to TCF procedures at all times

The Candidate

  • CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) is a minimum requirement
  • Additional relevant Diploma-level modules should also be considered
  • Experience in financial planning is essential
  • In-depth understanding of financial markets/risk management techniques/regulatory requirements
  • Proven business and team-building ability
  • Self motivated, ambitious, decisive
  • Team player with first-rate people skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload
