My client is a large national IFA firm, who are growing through acquisition. Now looking for a Paraplanner to join the busy team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare suitability reports/fund switch letters in line with company procedures and tasks
  • Conduct research as required to support recommendations
  • Liaise with technical and compliance departments when required
  • Assist in follow up action requested in relation to a compliance file check
  • Deals effectively with clients and colleagues, understanding the need to manage clients and colleagues expectation
  • Will understand the need for confidentiality of information and will deal with personnel issues appropriately and sensitively

Relevant Skills and Knowledge

  • The requisite technical knowledge and qualification (e.g. QCA Level 3 or 4 exams)
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the firm's procedures including record keeping requirements
  • Understanding the need to provide advice to clients in a compliant manner as detailed in the firm's business manual and procedures
  • Broad base of compliance knowledge
  • Good understanding of other relevant legislation, including that related to financial crime
  • Has knowledge of the firm's services, products, sales policy, compliance and administration procedures
  • Planning and organising skills - able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Able to prioritise and work under pressure to a strict deadline
  • Attention to detail with record keeping and communication to clients
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to listen and follow instruction effectively
  • Good team player - readily assists all members of the team to achieve team and individual objectives, particularly in busy periods
  • Awareness of Financial Crime including how to identify suspicious transactions/activities and how to report
