The Client

My client is a leading IFA and both a discretionary and financial planning-led wealth management firm. They are looking to introduce a Paraplanner into their team for a brand-new role.


My client is looking for a Paraplanner to join their close-knit Maidstone office.

The role involves preparing written advice and provide technical research services to a small team of Financial Planners.


  • Participating in and delivering comprehensive financial research, within set SLAs, on products and investments on an independent basis using company-approved research tools
  • Preparing and delivering bespoke investment reports, within set SLAs, to clients through the analysis of existing investment portfolios and comparison against suitable benchmarks
  • Producing, when required, tax and other complex calculations
  • Preparing and interpreting complex plan information with a view to completing transfer analysis
  • Preparing complex financial planning reports, within set SLAs, in multiple financial planning areas
  • Researching and reviewing, where necessary, new and existing legislation and technical/product information to aid in the role that is performed
  • Communicating with IFAs coherently on a regular basis, in order to gather sufficient information on client cases and updating on case progress
  • Completing work, as required, towards the creation of the firm's independent centralised research list
  • Participating in firm research projects, adhering to set deadlines, as and if required

To be successful you will need

  • At least working towards CII Level 4 Diploma qualified in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent)
  • Demonstration of knowledge, interest and experience in personal financial planning and in the construction of financial planning research and suitability reports
  • Experience in an IFA environment, demonstrating quality communications of constructive feedback
  • An ability to demonstrate strong report-writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an eye for detail
  • Professional telephone manner
