My client is currently looking for an experienced and qualified Portfolio Manager to join their team in Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will work along side the Senior Investment Director on the discretionary desk managing a significant AUM for the office.

Principal Role

  • To provide high quality, professional fund management services to private clients, pension funds, charities and advice to Investment Managers
  • Monitor performance of investment against objectives
  • Continually review and keep on top of portfolio asset allocations, making changes where required
  • Implementing both asset allocation and stock/fund selection decisions, in line with various committee changes and/or proactively
  • Assess investment objectives for private clients, pension funds and charities
  • Manage standing order and other adhoc cash flow (in or out) requirements
  • Manage year end CGT and manage ISA subscription process
  • Ensuring portfolios remain within suitability parameters and managing the suitability exceptions process
  • Chair the morning meeting debrief periodically
  • Contribute ideas to the development of the team's investment strategy
  • Assess relationship between clients' aims and financial markets
  • Construct portfolios, which encompass where appropriate a range of asset classes and demonstrate an awareness of composition of relevant benchmarks
  • Keep abreast of market trends, implementing timely and appropriate changes to investment portfolios
  • Ensure TCF is implemented throughout the department


Qualifications Required

  • Level 4 RDR compliant qualification and ideally the CISI Masters in Wealth Management level 7 or equivalent
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Cast iron integrity in all internal and external dealings
  • Showing concern for people, supporting colleagues and encouraging growth and development
