Your priority will be to deliver financial results with accountability for Broker and account level profitability and income targets. You will also be increasing the technical and trading capability of the branch Underwriting team.

You will be confident new business trader, with excellent relationships with your Brokers.
Your technical skills and experience should also be very strong.

What will I be doing?

* Delivering planned underwriting results through proactive account review, analysis of underwriting trends and improvement plans implemented to improve profitability.
* Acting as the referral point for Underwriters, coaching Underwriters to make decisions within their empowerment and providing technical and trading input to improve the quality of underwriting decisions.
* Looking after Property and Casualty binders.

What will I need?

* Progress towards ACII qualification - Desirable (or equivalent experience).
* Strong trading capability – Commercial awareness, negotiation skills, ability to build strong broker relationships.
* Pragmatic decision maker with good analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
* Strong level of technical underwriting expertise in a commercial insurance environment.
* Sound understanding of insurance market and processes across commercial lines insurance operations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience of working with binding agreements.
* Proven experience in decision making on a wide range of technical underwriting scenarios within a Commercial environment.
* Strong level of technical underwriting expertise in a commercial insurance environment.
* Excellent risk assessment and risk management skills.
