Would you like to take on more of a client-facing role, in addition to your normal technical responsibilities? IDEX have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Consultant to join a highly experienced team of Financial Planners at their firm based in London.

Role

As a Paraplanner with this firm, your new role involves the normal duties of a Client Facing Paraplanner but with a clear separation from the client services team who undertake all of the administration. Your primary function will be using your language and technical skills to support one of the top Financial Planners in the business by delivering outstanding research and report writing services, with progression to a Financial Adviser role within 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and back up to the Chartered Financial Consultant
  • Provide analysis, detailed research of funds and providers, report writing and product recommendations for presentation to clients and/or reports for sending to clients in conjunction with the paraplanning team
  • To provide assistance to the paraplanning team when workload dictates for all Consultants
  • Facilitate all advice within a strict ethical and compliance framework and under supervision of the Chartered Financial Consultant
  • Deal with client and Insurer queries to completion via the telephone or in writing
  • To conduct group scheme meetings with clients referred by the company in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ensuring your technical knowledge is kept up to date and that CPD records are filed monthly for compliance purposes
  • Providing clear work requests to allow back office to support your client bank effectively whilst following processes
  • Developing a robust review process for clients of the Chartered Financial Consultant and ensuring that service is delivered in line with the agreed fee/retainer/service level
  • Ensuring that internal systems are used effectively and accurately and that client detail is recorded and kept up to date
  • Comply fully with all compliance regulations and requirements as detailed in the company compliance manual and in bulletins issued by the Head of Risk Management

To be successful you will need

  • Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous relevant industry experience (sales support/paraplanning/previous advisory experience)
  • Willingness to work towards chartered status preferable
  • Knowledge of Intelligent Office ideal
  • Working knowledge of Prestwood/Truth software also ideal
