An expanding tech start-up business is looking to attract a Technical Partner Manager to play a pivotal role in their insurance channel.

The Business


Building SaaS software for consumers and businesses is a large part of what they do to analyse data and provide insights. Their data-led solutions are currently operating across several sectors in the UK including telecoms, energy and insurance, though European expansion is imminent. The next stage is targeting Private Motor Insurers in the UK.


The Role


The Partner Manager will:

  • Take ownership of the P&L for the insurance channel
  • Have full awareness and ownership of contracts, cost of works and budgeting
  • Initially take part in commercial meetings in order to understand the business and goals
  • Work closely with product owners to understand the existing product and roadmap and contribute ideas to improving the product
  • Identify key target Insurers including the relevant stakeholders (i.e. in management/risk/pricing) and begin to engage with them to introduce the product and its benefits
  • Deliver a minimum of 2 insurance partners in the first year in addition to one comparison aggregator site
  • Ensure the work the new products and services are successfully supported and delivered into these Insurers


The Individual


Candidates wishing to be considered for this role must have a significant presence in the UK Private Motor market and ideally strong relationships at various levels within Private Motor Insurers including actuarial, pricing and risk teams. Insurance sales and partner management experience are also key. Desirable qualities include:

  • An interest in working with innovation that is data led within the insurance space, having a say in the shape and direction of that product
  • Strong communication skills, with a consultative approach
  • An in-depth understanding of actuarial models and positioning with existing pricing models
  • Commercially orientated, involved in the creation and adhering to contracts
  • Management of operational and product driven P&L
  • Experience working with product and software engineering teams
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery process, use of financial, planning and
    presentation tools
