Purpose of Function

The Business Assurance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day running and timely completion of the business assurance requirements for the business. Completing quality assurance checks for new and top up business submitted by Investment Managers and providing accurate feedback to them to ensure the files ultimately demonstrate suitability.

Key Accountabilities

1 Manage the selection and completion of quality assurance checks both for numbers and risk requirements
2 Support the business with MI from the checks in order to identify risk or trends developing
3 Ensure feedback is constructive and that Managers are made aware for timely remediation
4 Complete quality assurance checks in a consistent and timely manner (in line with the development and Accreditation requirements)
5 Maintain a good understanding of the companies standards and requirements and complete the work in accordance to these
6 Liaise with relevant managers in relation to individuals where concerns are identified
7 Take on specific projects with direction from the Business Manager and team members as required
8 Continual assessment of own ability, attitude, productivity and motivation

Skills/Competencies Required

The role of Quality Assurance Officer requires the following skills:-

* Proven file checking experience and skills
* Good industry knowledge
* Ability to assess and interpret advice documentation
* Ability to constructively provide feedback
* Ability to understand different work streams within the business
* PC literate
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The role of Quality Assurance Officer requires the following competencies:-

* Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
* Strong attention to detail
* Good communicator especially written
* Personal development
* Ensure a high level of professionalism is maintained at all times
* To be able to see and understand views from all parts of the business


* Industry experience essential
* Educated to CISI Level 4 or equivalent
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Good IT skills
