Job description
We are supporting a leading North American broker in the search for an experienced business originator from the litigation funding or legal finance market. This role sits within a high-growth litigation and contingent risk insurance practice, working alongside specialist brokers who place products such as judgement preservation, adverse judgement, portfolio, and work-in-progress (WIP) insurance. The business is now looking for a commercial profile who can open and build meaningful relationships, and introduce high-value opportunities from across the litigation ecosystem.
The successful candidate will have a strong appreciation of how litigation value is created and financed, combined with the confidence and network to originate new opportunities for contingent risk insurance solutions. You will act as the team's "front door", identifying opportunities where insurance can unlock capital, de-risk litigation outcomes, or support financing strategies. A background in litigation funding, special situations, alternative asset origination, or legal-sector business development would be particularly relevant, along with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and shape commercial conversations.
We are particularly interested in individuals with relationships across:
Litigation funders
Law firms (plaintiff-side and defence-side)
Corporates with active or potential litigation exposure
Investors involved in litigation-driven or event-driven strategies
In this role, you will partner closely with a market-leading specialist team, contribute to one of the fastest-growing segments of the transactional insurance market, and play a pivotal part in expanding a practice that works on some of the most innovative and high-value solutions available today.
