Claims Specialist

Job description

We have been retained by a leading transactional risk insurance platform to hire a Claims Specialist to lead on the resolution of claims across the UK and international markets. The role sits at the intersection of law, insurance, and deal execution, offering exposure to high-value, cross-border transactions and regular interaction with private equity sponsors, corporates, brokers, and external legal advisers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transactional risk claims from initial notification through to resolution. This will include undertaking coverage analysis, assessing liability and quantum, setting claims strategy and reserves, and supporting settlement discussions. The role requires close collaboration with underwriting teams, brokers, insureds, and external advisors, as well as the ability to exercise sound commercial judgement in technically complex and time-sensitive situations.

This opportunity would suit a candidate with experience in W&I or transactional risk claims, M&A disputes, private equity or corporate law, or complex financial lines claims. The ability to analyze legal risk, financial loss, and causation. Strong communication skills, confidence dealing with senior stakeholders, and a collaborative approach are key.
