What You'll Actually Own
This isn't oversight. It's leadership with accountability.
You'll have responsibility for:
- The underwriting strategy and risk appetite for the Irish P&C portfolio
- Portfolio performance and profitable growth
- Product direction and refinement
- Distribution strategy and broker engagement
- Governance and regulatory discipline
- Developing and strengthening a team of eight
There's motor in the broader structure, but from a P&L perspective that sits under a separate London pillar. Your focus is firmly on leading and expanding the Irish non-standard (not sub-standard) Property & Casualty platform.
You'll be close to the numbers.
Close to the brokers.
And occasionally back in the underwriting detail when it matters.
This is hands-on leadership - not a distant managerial title.
Where You Can Make Your Mark
The platform is already €15m GWP.
The team is in place, including underwriters and a BDM.
The question is: where does it go next?
You'll be expected to look at the portfolio and ask:
- Where are we under-indexed?
- Where can we grow responsibly?
- How do we sharpen appetite and improve return?
- How do we deepen broker relationships across Ireland?
If you enjoy spotting opportunity and executing on it, this will feel energising.
