Insurance Executive - Trade Credit

Job description

About the Company

We are representing a market-leading specialist credit insurance broker, part of a major, private equity-backed insurance group. With a heritage spanning over 30 years as a highly respected independent, our client is now on an exciting new trajectory. Fuelled by a fresh focus on ambitious organic growth, they are investing heavily in expanding their team and market footprint, combining deep, specialist knowledge with the power and resources of a larger group to achieve impressive goals.

The team

You'll be joining a small, close-knit, and successful team of seven. It's a diverse group, with ages ranging from mid-twenties to seasoned experts who have been in the industry for decades. Because the team is so collaborative, personality and cultural fit are just as important as experience. While this role will be based out of London, you will work closely with a dedicated support office where the client servicing team is based, ensuring a seamless and connected approach to winning and managing business.

What's in it for you

This is a chance to make a real impact and grow with a business on a steep upward curve. Our client has significant growth targets for the next three years (starting at 7.5% and rising to 15%) and you will be a key part of that journey. As the team expands, there will be genuine opportunities for career progression, with the potential for this role to evolve into a New Business Manager position. Being part of a major group means they have the financial backing to attract and reward the best talent. It's a unique opportunity to join a specialist team with an agile, start-up feel, but with the security and ambition of a major corporate player.

Our working environment

A flexible, hybrid working model is on offer. We see this role being based in or around London to tap into the lucrative South East market. You'll have access to a central London office and would be expected to spend at least one day a week there. Travel to the dedicated support office is also required for team strategy and planning sessions (fully expensed, of course). The rest of your week will be a mix of working from home and getting out to meet clients. The sales process is clear-cut: you win the business, then work with the brilliant Account Executive team to ensure a smooth handover for the ongoing client relationship.

Current Hiring Requirements

We're looking for an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join our client's team. This is a pivotal role focused on generating new business and helping them hit ambitious growth targets.

  • You must have proven sales experience within the credit insurance market and be able to hit the ground running from day one.
  • This is a self-generating role; you'll be responsible for building your own pipeline through networking, prospecting, and leveraging your own contacts.
  • You'll be working towards a new business income target of circa £100,000 per annum, with an excellent bonus structure to reward your success.
  • Ideally, you'll be based in London or the South East, with a willingness to travel to the dedicated support office.
  • Experience or knowledge of the surety and performance bonds market would be a huge advantage.

Salary & Benefits

Salary range

We are offering a competitive basic salary, likely in the region of £70,000 - £85,000+, which is negotiable depending on your experience, track record, and what you can bring to the table.

Benefit package

On top of a great salary, you'll receive a fantastic bonus, earning 10% of all new business income you write (e.g., a £10,000 bonus for hitting a £100,000 target), with accelerators for high performance. While a car allowance isn't offered, you can claim business mileage at the full 45p per mile HMRC rate, and all business-related travel is fully expensed.

Company USP's

This isn't just another sales job. It's a chance to join a market-leading specialist team on a massive growth journey. You'll have the autonomy to make the role your own, the backing of a major group, and a clear path for career progression in a supportive and collaborative environment.
