Job description
An established insurance broker is working in partnership with a real estate client to introduce a new In-House Insurance Manager position within the client's business.
Based within the real estate client's office near Bedford, this position will act as the internal insurance specialist, overseeing the portfolio's insurance arrangements and working closely with the broker managing the programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone in broking who wants to move client-side, take ownership of an insurance programme, and step away from the pace and pressure of a traditional brokerage environment.
The role
You will act as the central point of contact for insurance within the organisation, ensuring the insurance programme is well-managed and aligned with the business's risk profile.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the internal insurance lead for the real estate business
- Coordinating renewals and placement activity with the broker
- Managing property and liability insurance programmes
- Overseeing claims activity and reporting
- Supporting internal stakeholders with insurance guidance
- Maintaining policy documentation and insurance records
- Providing insurance reporting to leadership
Who this role would suit
This role is likely to appeal to someone currently working in the broking market who enjoys the technical and relationship side of insurance more than business development.
You might be:
- A Commercial Account Executive with strong property experience looking to work client-side
- A Senior Account Handler ready to step into a stand-alone insurance role
- An insurance professional who wants to own a programme rather than manage multiple clients
The right person will be comfortable acting as the internal insurance specialist, working closely with both the real estate business and the appointed broker.
Experience required
- Strong understanding of commercial property insurance
- Experience managing renewals and overseeing claims
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders
- Strong organisation and communication skills
Why apply?
- Newly created, client-side insurance role
- Opportunity to own and shape the insurance function
- Part-time role (3 days per week) offering flexibility
- Support from an established insurance broker
