Senior Account Handler

Job description

We're partnering with a well-established independent insurance broker looking to recruit an Account Handler to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with SME or mid-market commercial insurance experience who is keen to step up into handling larger, corporate clients.

The Role

  • Support the Senior Account Executive in managing a corporate client book

  • Handle clients with premiums ranging from £85,000 to nearly £1 million

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both clients and insurers

  • Ensure all day-to-day servicing, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and documentation are handled efficiently

  • Communicate proactively and act as a trusted point of contact for clients, rather than relying solely on email correspondence

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience in commercial insurance, ideally within an independent broker or mid-market environment

  • Motivated and ready to develop into handling larger corporate clients

  • Strong relational skills - able to build rapport with clients and insurers alike

  • Comfortable with proactive communication and taking ownership of client relationships

  • Cultural fit: ideally someone who has experience in an independent environment, may have worked for a consolidator, and is now looking for a relationship-focused, client-driven culture
