Senior Account Manager

Job description

A leading chartered broker in Bristol is seeking a Senior Account Manager to manage a portfolio of complex commercial clients, many with premiums exceeding £100,000. Clients are primarily from sectors such as Manufacturing, Haulage, Construction, Property, and Retail.

The role involves overseeing the full insurance lifecycle-renewals, midterm adjustments, and servicing-while maintaining strong relationships with clients, insurers, and brokers. The successful candidate will also support the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client portfolios and ensure high service standards
  • Prepare renewal documentation and present risks to underwriters
  • Negotiate complex cover and pricing with insurers
  • Produce clear client reports with recommendations
  • Handle invoicing, policy queries, and contract support
  • Coach and support less experienced colleagues

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in commercial/corporate insurance
  • DIP CII qualified and above
  • Strong technical knowledge and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
