Job description
If you're an experienced PI underwriter in Dublin, you'll know the feeling.
You're writing good business.
You've built strong broker relationships.
You understand your classes.
But ultimately, you're operating within someone else's framework. Someone else sets the appetite. Someone else controls the direction. And progression often means managing process rather than shaping strategy.
This opportunity is different.
A well-established, highly successful global MGA is expanding its Professional Indemnity offering into Ireland.
They have a proven track record in the UK market and the infrastructure, capacity and support functions already in place.
What they don't have yet is the right person on the ground in Dublin to build the Irish book properly.
That's where you come in.
You will lead the development of a broad, open-market PI portfolio across sectors such as accountants, engineers, architects, surveyors, design & construct and miscellaneous professions.
You'll be visible in the market, trading with brokers, setting the tone and establishing credibility from day one.
Importantly, this isn't a corporate "caretaker" role. It's a build role.
You will have meaningful underwriting authority and the ability to influence appetite, pricing approach and broker strategy for Ireland.
You'll be backed by actuarial, claims, IT and capacity support, but you'll own the local execution. As the portfolio grows, you will hire and shape your own underwriting team.
Financially, the package reflects the responsibility: €130,000 - €150,000 base salary, performance bonus, strong pension contribution, private medical and full executive benefits.
This will suit a commercially minded PI underwriter who knows the Irish broker market, enjoys trading and wants genuine autonomy - without taking on start-up risk.
If you'd like to explore it confidentially, get in touch directly and we'll take it from there.
