Idex Consulting are working exclusively with this boutique SIPP packager who have a current requirement for a Team Leader.
You will be responsible for leading, motivating, and developing a team of SIPP Administrators to ensure the accurate, compliant, and timely administration of Self-Invested Personal Pensions. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with people management, process oversight, and a strong focus on regulatory compliance, service quality, and continuous improvement.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of SIPP Administrators, ensuring high performance and engagement
- Allocate workloads effectively to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and business priorities
- Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and development planning
- Identify training needs and support technical development within the team
- Act as the first point of escalation for complex cases and client issues
SIPP Administration Oversight
- Oversee the end-to-end administration of SIPPs, including:
- New business and transfers
- Contributions and benefit crystallisation
- Drawdown, retirement, and death benefits
- Investments and specialist assets
- Provide technical guidance on complex SIPP cases and non-standard assets
- Carry out quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
Compliance & Risk
- Ensure all SIPP administration is carried out in line with FCA regulations, HMRC rules, and internal policies
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and internal compliance checks
- Identify, manage, and escalate risks, breaches, or operational issues appropriately
- Keep up to date with regulatory changes affecting SIPPs and pensions administration
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with advisers, clients, and third-party providers
- Handle escalated client queries or complaints professionally and effectively
- Support the delivery of excellent client service and positive client outcomes
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and efficiency
- Support system enhancements, projects, and change initiatives
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of procedures and best practices
- Monitor team KPIs and management information, reporting trends and issues
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in SIPP administration
- Strong working knowledge of pensions legislation, HMRC rules, and FCA requirements
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Ability to manage complex cases and provide technical guidance
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders
Desirable
- Relevant pensions qualifications (e.g. PMI/RPS, Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning)
- Experience with non-standard or complex SIPP assets (e.g. property, SSAS-style investments)
- Experience working in a regulated SIPP operator environment
