Trainee Paraplanner

Job description

My client is currently looking for a part qualified Trainee Paraplanner in Manchester city centre.

They are looking for someone with previous experience within an IFA practice who can demonstrate a strong paraplanning understanding.

You will support the financial planning function, thrive as a technical expert and enjoy writing.

To be successful in this role you must have outstanding specialist knowledge of different products and areas of financial planning.

You don't have to be qualified yet, but we'd like someone who wants to complete the L4 qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a Paraplanner/Adviser to ensure the correct client outcome is achieved
  • Produce compliant and detailed suitability reports for clients
  • Undertaking centralised product research and analysis to support the firm's product governance responsibilities, reporting to the relevant committees and presenting where appropriate
  • Ensuring all client information is recorded on system and any tasks are completed within the appropriate timescale
  • Acting as a centre of technical excellence and share expertise with the wider team
  • Contacting product providers to clarify information and developing B2B relationships with key providers

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Good working knowledge in areas of investment, protection and pensions
  • Display enthusiasm, energy and positivity
  • Have an interest in ESG principles, frameworks and regulations, particularly as they apply to the financial services industry
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Pride yourself on your organisational skills including managing multiple conflicting priorities
  • Be a superior user of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and have working knowledge of iO
  • Collaborate well with other teams
