Associate / Senior

Job description

A high-growth, award-winning national law firm is seeking to expand its pensions practice as part of a major strategic investment across its Corporate, Tax, IP, and Real Estate divisions - the Pensions team is entering an exciting period of growth and now requires additional talented pensions lawyers to join its journey.

The practice is experiencing exceptional momentum, with a growing stream of high-profile instructions across trustee advisory matters, corporate transactional support, and public sector pensions, including work for large government departments and LGPS clients. The team is winning high-profile mandates and is working closely with a highly active corporate department, resulting in more demand than current capacity-making this an ideal moment to join and have real, immediate impact.

This role offers the opportunity to advise on a wide range of pensions matters while working directly alongside an ambitious partner and a friendly, collegiate national team. You'll provide technically excellent advice in a clear and practical way, support corporate transactions, nurture client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. You'll also take responsibility for effective matter management, from time recording and billing to monitoring WIP, while maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and meeting SRA competence standards. The firm encourages applications from candidates with experience gained in recognised pensions teams and will consider applicants at all levels, though the ideal range is 2-10 years PQE. Flexibility is available, with both permanent and contract options open for discussion.

The culture is bold, collaborative, and energised-perfect for lawyers who enjoy being part of a team that is building something significant. Candidates based in Birmingham, Manchester, London and Bristol are encouraged to apply and those outside the main hubs should feel confident working autonomously within a well-connected, supportive group.

This opportunity offers the chance to work with a respected partner with a strong international background, engage with high-quality trustee, corporate, and public sector clients, and play a genuine role in shaping the future of a national pensions practice. With clear progression pathways and the ability to pay above market for exceptional individuals, this is an outstanding move for any pensions lawyer looking to step into a high-growth environment and help build a top-tier practice.
