You'll be responsible for driving sustainable, profitable growth by developing a clear regional strategy, strengthening key broker partnerships, and aligning distribution activity with underwriting appetite.
The Role This role goes beyond traditional business development, combining strategic planning, relationship leadership, and commercial execution. Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and delivering the regional broker strategy for Property & Casualty across Yorkshire and the North East
- Managing and developing strategic relationships with provincial and national brokers, focusing on long-term, profitable partnerships
- Identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts through structured account planning and data-led insights
- Leading broker segmentation, target setting, and trading plans aligned to underwriting appetite and capacity
- Influencing broker placement strategies through credibility, underwriting insight, and consistent market engagement
- Working in close partnership with underwriting leadership to shape appetite, product development, and pricing strategy
- Driving new broker opportunities where strategically aligned, including onboarding and early-stage relationship development
- Representing the business at senior-level broker meetings, market forums, and industry events
- Providing detailed market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making and future growth initiatives
- Maintaining robust performance reporting, forecasting, and CRM discipline to support regional and national objectives
About You
- Significant experience in a Broker Development, Trading, or Distribution role within Property & Casualty underwriting
- An established and credible broker panel, both provincial and national, across the northern market
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term planning and short-term delivery
- Deep understanding of Property & Casualty products, broker distribution, and market dynamics
- Confident operating at senior broker and underwriting level, influencing outcomes through insight and relationships
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to lead your region autonomously
Why Join Us?
- Play a key role in shaping the future growth strategy of a progressive Property & Casualty underwriting business
- Genuine ownership of a strategically important region
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial culture that values expertise, insight, and accountability
- Competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and performance
- A long-term opportunity to grow with a business that invests in people and backs strong ideas
If you're a strategic broker development professional with deep Property & Casualty expertise and strong northern broker relationships, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact.
