Job description

An outstanding opportunity to lead the London market office of a well established and profitable Lloyd's broker. This company has provided London Market broking solutions for over 50 years, which has been achieved through the careful development of strong insurer relationships, with a track record for efficiency and delivering results for our broker partners. They are a long-established Lloyd's Broker accessing a wide variety of Lloyd's Syndicates and Insurers.

Reporting to Group CEO, you will be responsible for developing, managing and growing the London Market business providing in house access to solutions for wider business and sister companies across Europe.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain and grow a book of London Markets / Lloyd's placed business
  • Provide in house solutions for parent company
  • Manage and maintain an efficient panel of Broker Partners
  • Develop new propositions and solutions for the benefit of the parent company and the Broker Panel
  • Represent company at group level and at the UK Board level and shareholder meetings across Europe
  • Line management of senior team
  • Responsible for the portfolio growth performance of Brokers within allocated team ensuring that individual and team growth targets are achieved
  • Provide assistance to direct reports, and the wider team, when required, to support client retention and new business activities
  • Take personal responsibility for the development of key clients including parent company and brokers in addition to large unconnected independent broker clients
  • Work with the UK Board to maintain and develop a "stronger together" collaborative culture to ensure that best practice and development ideas are regularly discussed and implemented across all business units including Credit, Insurance, Risk Management and Employee Benefits

Skills and Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in the London Markets / Lloyds / MGA industry
  • Technical competency in a core insurance area e.g. property, casualty, fleet, marine, financial lines
  • Previous successful experience of business development in a similar environment

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to engage and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Ability to coach and support colleagues and teams
  • Excellent presentation skills
    Ability to negotiate with a diverse group of partners
