The Client:

A global (re)insurance brand writing in excess of USD30 billion in premiums, with offices is in 32 countries. As part of increased focus on growing their UK middle market offering, my client will appoint a talented underwriting leader to build their Technology proposition.

Job Description:

My client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced underwriting leader to become the Head of Technology for the Middle Market team. This role will focus specifically on the Technology sector, building the product and proposition and working with partner insurance brokers in the UK.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and launch Technology industry specific products, focusing on Property, Casualty and Professional Indemnity lines
• Set underwriting appetite across the Technology sector within the parameters of the Middle Market account
• Lead external engagement and business development within the Technology sector
• Build and manage the Technology underwriting team in the UK
• Manage the Technology book of business, ensuring top and bottom line budgets are met
• Work with the actuarial team to develop and maintain adequate pricing models, setting the foundations for a profitable account over the long term
• Act as the main referral point for all Technology sector business within the Middle Market team
• Expand the existing portfolio of business by developing existing relationships and new prospective clients

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Undergraduate, Insurance, or advanced degree preferred
• Underwriting experience
• Significant experience within the Technology sector at underwriter and management level
• Established relationships with specialist Technology Brokers
