Insurance and Regulatory Lawyer

Job description

Overview
A fast-growing, international specialist insurance group is seeking a Senior Insurance Law & Regulatory Compliance Lawyer to support its expanding global operations. The organisation operates across multiple jurisdictions, offering complex insurance and intermediary services, and is in a phase of significant strategic growth.
This role sits within the compliance function, not a traditional Legal Counsel position and is ideal for lawyers who want a more operational, business-integrated role. You will play a key part in shaping the group's regulatory and legal frameworks, ensuring global consistency, and advising on specialised insurance legal issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain an international licensing guide covering cross-border insurance distribution and intermediary requirements
  • Develop a global regulatory and legal change monitoring framework, coordinating expertise across regions and functions
  • Provide specialist insurance law advice, including support with insurance and reinsurance wording reviews
  • Conduct legal assessments in areas such as sanctions, AML, and data privacy
  • Contribute to group-wide Legal & Compliance projects, initiatives and reporting

About You

  • Qualified lawyer with strong experience in insurance law, regulatory compliance and cross-border regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of insurance distribution rules, policy structures, and regulatory risk areas
  • Able to work independently, manage projects, and engage senior stakeholders with confidence
  • Pragmatic, commercially aware, and solutions-focused

What's on Offer

  • Senior role with global scope and meaningful influence over group frameworks
  • High autonomy and exposure to complex international work
  • Flexible hybrid working and improved work-life balance
  • Competitive package in a dynamic, growing insurance group
