Insurance Regional Placement/Relationship Broker

Are you an experienced placement broker or senior broker looking for a hybrid role with a forward thinking, entrepreneurial organisation?

Huge success across their business with recruitment has resulted in further expansion, and presented this newly created position to join their national placement team with an enviable group knowledge of commercial insurance broking.

Based from home you will cover the South East regional clients with occasional office visits in this region to build relationships and client knowledge as well as insurer networking and events.

The placement broker is responsible for the programme design and placement of specific industry business into the regional, London and international insurance markets.

This will involve collating and managing clients that are at risk and policies that will be difficult to place. Work with colleagues to devise specific strategies for these cases.

Manage insurer relationships - including regular meetings with BDM and keeping region updated with outcomes, understand regional insurer landscape and make sure they understand opportunities and threats.

Insurer Strategy - working in conjunction with group strategy

Broking Strategy - review existing placements and new business and identify alternative insurers where necessary, involvement with internal pre-renewal discussions where necessary, assist executives and handlers on cases difficult to place

New product/insurer role out to teams

Promote insurer engagement including underwriting surgeries and appetite presentations

Involvement with development of facilities, campaigns and affinities

Broking Development - improving actual broking capabilities of colleagues - including approach to markets/insurer engagement on a specific client/negotiation strategies.

Technical Development- Act as technical point of reference for the region and promote technical development of colleagues. Liaise with the wider team where necessary

Gather relevant reporting data for the Placement Director, including, but not limited to: Number of broking exercises being undertaken, insurer performance, major client movements between insurers, regional frustrations with insurers, feedback from insurers for the region.
