Marine Broking Manager

Job description

Broking marine risks within Lloyd's, meeting underwriters and the inevitable liquid lunches....

As much as you enjoy this part of your role, you don't want to be doing this day in day out for the rest of your career. You have bigger ambitions, you feel your personality is suited to leadership.

Unless your boss retires / leaves there simply is no opportunity to do this at your current firm

2024 is your year to put your career development in your own hands.

We are delighted to bring to the market a brand new, rare opportunity, a well-known Lloyd's Broker are looking to make an offer to an experienced Marine Broker / Leader who would like to run an existing H&M, P&I and War team, whilst still getting their hands dirty, placing risks and being market facing.

You will have the opportunity to lead from the front, work with the board to execute strategy and bring in new talent.

You will be joining a highly thought of marine insurance business, a firm who work on both brown/blue water risks and commercial marine cases globally, mostly on a wholesale basis. This firm have a fairly flat management structure, meaning you'll have more involvement than perhaps you would do at a much larger global firm.

As we enter 2024, this is ideal for an individual currently performing a similar role and is open to a change, or perhaps a Senior Marine Broker at the cusp of moving into leadership but unable to do so at their current firm. If you had some production experience also, even better as you'll have some exposure to this.

Joining as Marine Broking Manager in London, on offer is a salary up to £85,000 + bonuses + ability to work from home on a hybrid basis. You will be able to bring market contacts, your expert knowledge in placing Hull and Machinery, P&I and Marine War risks, as well as natural enthusiasm to your role
