Marine Cargo Underwriting Manager

Job description

Within Marine Cargo and/or Freight Liability Insurance you are technically sound. No problem.

Where you do thrive however, is when you are out developing Broker relationships, 'leading from the front' and being a good point of referral within your current business.

You're either within a leadership role presently, or perhaps you're at the cusp of breaking into management but your employer is holding you back.

We are delighted to bring to the market a brand new leadership opportunity to join a highly rated regional and Lloyds Insurance company based in Manchester.

Heading up a team of Marine Cargo and Freight Liability Development Underwriters, you'll be instrumental in driving performance, co-attending Broker visits and carrying out appraisals.

Development is the focus, but you'll also get the opportunity to really get your teeth stuck into the reporting side, where you will make recommendations on underwriting policy and pricing strategies as well as presenting operational reports to senior management

Day to day, you enjoy seeing people thrive both personally and professionally. You have a wealth of experience within marine cargo to give to your team and this feels the natural next step. This could be your opportunity.

Even better, this firm will consider individuals from either an Underwriting or Broking background (If the latter, you must evidence a strong track record handling marine cargo business)

On offer is a salary up to £85,000 per year + 15% bonus + flexible working (Requirement to be in the office once/twice a week). You'll also enjoy a whole suite of benefits which can be shared with you via a brochure.

You should definitely pick up the phone / express interest on here if you love people, have a strong development background and have a passion for all things marine cargo.
