Paraplanner Team Leader

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Paraplanner Team Leader to join a growing business in Cornwall.
The ideal will ensure within the team, that service levels are met and staff training and development needs are identified and addressed. Provide paraplanning support function to planners. Focus on team performance and goals, whilst maintaining excellent client service.

This is a hybrid working opportunity which will see you part office/part home based.

Responsibilities:

Paraplanning:

  • Prepare and maintain client files and client reviews
  • Build cash flow models
  • Prepare recommendations and suitability reports
  • Identify areas for planning
  • Oversee implementation of recommendations, completion of application forms and ensure all compliance is in order
  • Establish and build strong relationships with clients


Team Leadership:

  • Liaise with Planners within team to prioritise work and meet team targets
  • Organise and prioritise work within the team
  • Distribute work to team, liaising with other team Leaders accordingly
  • Conduct regular 1:1's with team members rolling into performance reviews
  • Ensure that team members meet defined service levels
  • Train new members of the team and maintain training and development logs
  • Identify any trends or potential issues and problem solve
  • Liaise with Paraplanning Manager to ensure that team is sufficiently staffed
  • Assist in the recruitment of new members of the team
  • To continually review processes to identify & implement improvements
  • Engage in project work to assist Paraplanning Manager to improve department efficiencies and compliance


The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent understanding of the financial planning process
  • Technical knowledge in a wide range of product areas - pensions, investments, IHT planning, tax planning, protection
  • Suitability report writing skills
  • Keep up to date with new product, technical and legislative changes within the marketplace
  • Experience using client cash-flow modelling software preferable


Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent
