Planning Associate
Job description
This is a national law firm that consistently ranks among the UK's top legal practices for service, innovation, and a people-first culture. With a reputation for working alongside some of the world's most ambitious businesses, the firm is known for empowering its people and championing individuality within high-performing, supportive teams.
Recognised with Platinum Standard Investors in People accreditation, the firm walks the walk when it comes to values, culture, and career development. Alongside a competitive remuneration structure, it offers a standout benefits package tailored to support and reward you at every stage of your career.
The Team
The planning team is led by some of the most respected names in the field, working nationally to support clients across house-building, retail, infrastructure, investment, and energy sectors. This team is known for providing strategic and commercially-minded advice across a wide range of complex planning matters, from infrastructure agreements to mixed-use development schemes.
The Role
We're looking for a driven and enthusiastic Associate with experience in planning law to join this nationally recognised team. You'll work on a high-quality and varied caseload, advising across both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Your day-to-day might include:
Drafting and negotiating Section 106 and infrastructure agreements
Advising on highways and compulsory purchase issues
Supporting judicial review and village green matters
Handling footpath/highway closure applications
Contributing to business development and building client relationships
You'll be joining a truly collaborative national practice with access to exciting work, top-tier clients, and clear progression opportunities.
About You
You'll likely be a qualified solicitor with demonstrable planning experience - either from a private practice or in-house role. You'll be confident managing client relationships, passionate about planning law, and eager to take your career to the next level in a supportive but ambitious environment.
Diversity & Inclusion
The firm takes pride in fostering an environment that champions diversity, inclusion, and well-being. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcomed and supported, with a strong emphasis on recognising and nurturing talent in a genuinely inclusive workplace.
