An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Renewals Underwriter to join a well-established and growing commercial insurance team in Manchester.
This role sits within a dynamic underwriting environment focused on Property & Casualty (P&C) business, where you will be responsible for managing and retaining a profitable renewal portfolio while assessing a range of risks - including some more complex and technically challenging cases.
The Role
As a Renewals Underwriter, you will play a key role in maintaining long-term broker relationships and ensuring sustainable portfolio performance. You will review renewal submissions, analyse exposures, and apply sound underwriting judgement to deliver balanced and profitable outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of P&C renewal accounts, ensuring strong retention and profitability
- Assessing complex commercial risks and applying appropriate underwriting strategies
- Reviewing terms, conditions, and pricing to maintain portfolio performance
- Building and maintaining strong broker relationships
- Negotiating renewal terms and identifying cross-sell or growth opportunity
