Senior Corporate Associate - Financial Services

Job description

An International law firm with a first class corporate practice are looking to appoint a corporate associate (1-5 PQE) to the team. The practice is Tier 1 rated in the Legal Directories for upper mid-market deals and a recognised leader in our chosen sectors (financial services, retail & consumer, real estate, energy & infrastructure and healthcare) delivering more than 200 deals a year in over 40 different jurisdictions.

This appointment sits within the firms financial services M&A team and advises on a wide range of corporate transactions including private and public mergers and acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, intra-group restructurings, cross-border transactions and a variety of strategic and regulatory driven projects.

Their clients include the large UK and international clearing banks, such as Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group and NatWest, leading challenger banks, building societies and mutuals, fintech's, asset and wealth managers, exchanges, payments providers, non-bank lenders, brokers and insurers, amongst others.
Key requirements for this role are:

  • Experience of financial services focused M&A and strategic transactions
  • Client-focused thinking and commerciality - the ability to offer up solutions rather than merely identify problems
  • Self-motivated, flexible and willingness to own workstreams
  • Team dynamic is important in a fast-moving, market-facing transaction - strong communication and technical skills, positivity and proactivity are must-haves
  • Ability to work well alongside specialists in other practice areas (within the UK and internationally)


Applicants will have experience of general corporate work within the financial services sector and have experience at a firm based in the City.
