Senior Manager, Business Risk, GI&P and COO
Leading Global Bank
Hybrid - Nationwide (Edinburgh, London, Leeds, Cardiff)
£80,000 - £100,000 pa Negotiable + bonus + leading group benefits

As Senior Risk Manager, you will work as a trusted partner supporting the Insurance & Protection Division to deliver against collective priorities whilst improving the risk and control environment through specialist knowledge (Insurance) and capabilities to identify and mitigate risks arising within business processes.

Additionally as the Senior Risk Manager GI&P and COO, you will:

  • Be responsible for driving activity to support a range of risk management processes and systems including continuous risk management of the Insurance & Protection business area.
  • Leading the secondary risk category of Change and driving the activity required monthly, quarterly, and annually across the Insurance domain.
  • Drive activity to understand & maintain the risk & control profile.
  • Ensure timely updates to the Risk Committee on key themes, trends and horizon risks to support decision making.
  • As a key role in 1LOD you will develop excellent relationships with stakeholders across the 2nd & 3rd Lines of Defence.

You:

  • An experienced Risk professional, with experience in Risk Management in a similarly complex, constantly evolving, regulated environment.
  • Significant subject matter expertise in business risk management & processes & products in General Insurance (GI) and Protection & Chief Operating Office.
  • Knowledge and exposure of the Operational & Regulatory complexities impacting Insurance & Protection business lines from strategic, operational & change perspectives.
  • Significant Operational Risk exposure in General Insurance (GI).
  • You must be a strong confident leader, who clearly demonstrates drive, energy, dedication and integrity, and with a track record of delivery on "Hows".
  • Solid understanding of regulatory framework & compliance requirements for insurance firms.
  • Demonstrate 1st line of defence Operational Risk Oversight capability in an insurance environment.
  • Able to lead & carry out Risk & Control Assessments.
  • Ability to build and maintain a relationship with key executive partners.
  • Strong influencing, negotiating, team management and coaching skills.
