Senior Property Broker

Job description

Our client is a long established Lloyd's broker with a track record of profitability client excellence. They are keen to hire an experienced Property Broker to help drive the business area forward and establish new market in Europe as well as continuing with the development of an enviable book of UK and Eire based clients.


Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain and grow a book of UK and European Commercial Property business
  • Provide in house solutions for the company
  • Manage and maintain an efficient panel of Broker partners
  • Take personal responsibility for the development of key clients including the company and brokers in addition to large unconnected independent broker clients
  • Work with the UK Board to maintain and develop a "stronger together" collaborative culture to ensure that best practice and development ideas are regularly discussed and implemented across all business units including Credit, Insurance, Risk Management and Employee Benefits
  • Build, enhance and maintain a positive and trust-based relationship with the team
  • Achievement of own personal new business development objectives and targets
  • Work closely with marketing team to develop local marketing and events strategy
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, industry codes of practice and the Company's own procedures and rules
  • Ensure clients are treated fairly at all times
  • Be aware of and manage any potential conflict of interest
  • Comply with all internal processes and procedures
  • Undertake training in line with agreed objectives and keep up to date with technical, legal and market developments

Skills, Knowledge & Attributes

  • Extensive experience in Property within the London Markets / Lloyds / MGA industry
  • Previous successful experience of business development in a similar environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to engage and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Ability to coach and support colleagues and teams
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to negotiate with a diverse group of partners
  • Gravitas to act as a senior role model and leader
  • High levels of energy, motivation and initiative - a self-starter
