Senior Warranty Underwriter

The role is operating with the warranty space, underwriting on behalf of dealerships and 3rd parties.

The role:

Ensure the Underwriters position is protected against adverse risk features or trends and inadequate, or inappropriate, policy administration.

Recommend and implement risk improvement measures as appropriate. Conduct audits of the administrators processes and controls to ensure compliance with agreed procedures. Work with the administrators audit team conducting reviews on 3rd party dealers.

Support the company strategy and objectives.

  • To be the technical 'go to' expert on technical vehicle queries that the underwriting team may have. Maintain wide industry knowledge of vehicles and mechanical issues
  • Manage the relationship between 3rd parties and the business . Audit the responsibilities of the administrator against the outsourcing and agency agreements.
  • Proactively manage 3rd party relationship and communications with claims administrators to promote improvements to risk management
  • Identify and report to the 3rd party underwriters on internal and external factors which will impact on frequency and severity
  • Manage customer complaints through to resolution and act as point of contact for Financial Ombudsman Service
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes
  • Monitor the performance of dealers and identify audit opportunities. Take full ownership of the Audit Programme.
  • Ensure that the audits are thorough and that all areas of weakness are identified and that recommended actions are well thought through and have high intellectual rigour. Highlight the key action points and follow up on a regular basis to ensure that they have been implemented with the result that we have made change happen
  • Manage any 'large loss' claims on behalf of 3rd parties
  • To identify improvements in systems and procedures both within the business and its partners.
