About the Role
We are seeking a talented Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) Underwriter to join our growing European team in Amsterdam. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified lawyer with strong transactional experience to transition into a dynamic underwriting role within the M&A insurance sector.
You will play a key role in assessing and underwriting M&A risks, working closely with brokers, advisors, and corporate clients across a diverse range of industries. This position offers exposure to high-profile cross-border deals and the opportunity to make a direct impact in a fast-moving, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite W&I risks on M&A transactions across the Benelux region and wider Europe.
- Conduct legal and financial due diligence reviews.
- Assess policy coverage and risk appetite in line with underwriting guidelines.
- Negotiate terms with brokers, lawyers, and clients.
- Contribute to the development of underwriting strategy and market presence.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer (3+ PQE) in the Netherlands or Belgium.
- Background in corporate/M&A, private equity, or transactional law.
- Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written) with excellent communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Commercial mindset and interest in M&A insurance.
- Willingness to be based in Amsterdam (relocation from Belgium supported).
