Account Executive

Job description

When you started off in insurance broking, was it bright city lights or something a little bit more rural that filled your career dreams?

Some love big city life and corporate wheeling and dealing. But if you much prefer muddy roads, fields and fresh air to skyscrapers and the Tube then your feel right at home here.

These guys are not big shiny global players. They are a local, community focused brokerage operating in the agricultural heartlands of Cumbria.

And you'll be joining them as part of their agricultural team who provide insurance solutions to farms and all the associated business in the rural space.

Its friendly bunch of people who have been around for over 30 years, so they know a thing or two about the rural market.

You'll be working with an existing book of clients but will have all the support and freedom you need to build your book of business using existing introducer relationships plus taking advantage of the firm's presence at all the main industry events in the rural calendar.

If you have a countryside or rural background, then that's great.

Although what's most important is you have the patience and personality to win over busy agricultural business owners who lets be honest, would much rather be out in their fields than talking insurance to a broker.

But the typical agricultural business owner is changing. Many are more tech and finance savvy entrepreneurs who have vastly diversified their operations from typical farms into multi-faceted businesses.

And that's where some of the real variety comes into play here as you'll be managing loads of differing types of clientele including suppliers to the sector and emerging areas of agriculture such as tech and renewables.

So, you might want to hang on to your suit and not rely completely on your wellies and Barbour jacket.

Ideally, you'll be based somewhere around the Cumbria region and have insurance experience as a Handler or Executive.

It's a straightforward application process where you'll have a very informal initial chat with the hiring manager. If that goes well, you'll be invited in for a marginally more formal 2nd stage meeting.

Salary is up to £50,000 base plus car, benefits and bonus structure.
