Broker Development Manager

Job description

Are you an ambitious and driven insurance professional ready to take your career to the next level?

We're seeking a Broker Engagement Manager / Business Development Manager to join a leading, modern, and award-winning MGA, renowned for its innovative approach, exceptional service, and market expertise in SME Property & Casualty and Professional Indemnity insurance.

In this role, you'll join a high-performing e-trade team within a dynamic and fast-paced underwriting environment. You'll play a pivotal part in developing broker relationships, driving business growth, and influencing strategic distribution decisions - all while working with a talented and collaborative team.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional relationship-management role - it's a data-driven, strategic position where your insights and analytical ability will directly shape broker engagement and business performance. You'll use robust data to inform decisions, identify growth opportunities, and tailor strategies to the needs and potential of each broker partner.
You'll work closely with leadership, underwriting, marketing, claims, and data teams to deliver outstanding results and uphold the high service standards that make this MGA a trusted broker partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse broker performance metrics, identify trading patterns, and share insights across the business.
  • Deliver growth by managing pipelines, developing broker relationships, and achieving income targets.
  • Support and enhance broker engagement strategies to increase enquiry volumes and conversions.
  • Clearly communicate underwriting appetite and messaging, working closely with marketing and underwriting.
  • Contribute to delivering a market-leading service and maintaining high renewal retention rates.
  • Stay up to date with market developments, trends, and technical knowledge.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong natural sales ability and trading mindset.
  • Proven success in developing and growing regional broker relationships.
  • Experience within an MGA environment.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Deep understanding of SME e-traded insurance products and systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Energetic, detail-oriented, and results-driven.

The Offer

  • Competitive salary (negotiable based on experience).
  • Generous pension plan and private healthcare.
  • Life assurance and 25 days annual leave.
  • Team away days and optional corporate benefits.
  • Support for professional development and qualifications.
  • Hybrid working - with approximately two days per month in London for planning sessions.

Why Join

You'll be part of a forward-thinking business that values innovation, data-led decision-making, and genuine partnerships. If you thrive in a collaborative, high-energy environment and want to make an impact in the SME insurance space - we'd love to hear from you.
