Claims Leader - Advisory
Job description
A leading global insurance and risk advisory firm is seeking a Claims Manager to lead a large, high-performing team within their UK claims function. This is a hybrid role based in Norwich, offering the opportunity to shape operational performance and drive technical excellence across a diverse claims portfolio.
The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for managing a large team of claims professionals, including Team Managers and Handlers. You'll play a key role in setting performance standards, supporting technical development, and ensuring the delivery of outstanding client outcomes.
Reporting into the Head of Claims Operations, you'll also contribute to wider strategic initiatives and continuous improvement across the claims function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a large, multi-level claims team to achieve operational and service excellence
- Provide technical oversight and support on complex or escalated claims
- Use data and performance metrics to drive improvements in process, quality, and client outcomes
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape claims strategy and implement change initiatives
- Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance frameworks
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience managing large claims teams within a broker, insurer, or loss adjusting environment
- Strong technical claims knowledge across commercial or corporate lines
- Confident leader with the ability to influence, motivate, and develop others
- Operationally focused, with a track record of delivering measurable improvements
- Comfortable using data and analytics to inform decisions and drive performance
- Skilled at building trust and credibility across diverse teams and stakeholder groups
