Commercial Insurance Broker

Job description

This insurance brokerage in Glasgow is probably the ones making the biggest waves in the local market.

In fact, they have hired 7 people into their Glasgow offices in the last 6 months due to their growth, all coming from established major brokerages.

The reason they are attracting so much interest is they can offer an independent broking culture but with a clientele which includes top-end corporate and interesting public sector work.

All handled in a technical environment where day-to-day it's proper broking work, training with insurers, negotiating deals and creating bespoke programs for clients.

So here you'll be joining the technical broking team who handle more of the higher-end clients.

That's ones who typically pay premiums in the £200k - £500k bracket. You know, ones with a little more complexity that require a bit more TLC.

Here the set-up is a well-oiled and sensibly structured machine.

Corporate and public sector new business is generated by a specific development team and much of the existing clientele is managed by a team of skilled Executives, backed by the technical hub you'll be joining.

The smaller SME work is managed by a specific team who concentrate on this and also in house is a team of 4 managing claims plus a couple of operational experts keeping things ticking over.

All this means that here you aren't too distracted with anything outside your remit, and you can focus on what you do best, which is your technical account handling work.

Ideally, you'll have a background in broking, ideally servicing clients with premiums over £100k and be someone who prefers good old fashioned client led broking.

The salary is up to £50,000 and ideally, you'll be able to work in Glasgow 3 days per week and 2 at home.

And don't worry if your CV isn't up to date, we can sort that for you.
